Nordic Feis 2009 will be held 23.-25. of October 2009 at historic medieval venue "Ridehuset" downtown in Oslo, 5 minutes walk from central train station, hotels, cafès, restaurants and dance hall for warm up and practice. Hotelrooms/pension are available from apx 250-750 nkr/person, all maximum 5 minutes walk from the feis venue.
The feis venue offers a professional stage with wooden flooring and dance maths, so no slippery floor for the dancers.
Grade exams will be held on Friday 23. of October from apx 10am - 6pm at dance hall in Kongensgate 16 (wooden floor and dance maths), 5 minutes walk from down town hotels and feis venue.
Preliminary program for the feis is as follows (changes may be done):
Solo competitions, ceili and mini-team competitions will be held on Saturday 24. of October.
Sunday 25. of October we will have show competitions, figure dance and dance drama organized as a show, also with possibilities to sign up for show choreographies without competing (as done in Stockholm 2006).
We are proud to announce that our workshop teacher will most likely be fabulous Breandan De Gallei, a great dance teacher, choreographer and former lead dancer of Riverdance - the Show. This will be confirmed shortly. Workshop will be held on Saturday and on Sunday before the show and includes solo dances (intermediate level), show choreography (primary/intermediate level) and a technique class.
Saturday evening we will organize a feis dinner with irish stew and a vegetarian dish at Dubliner Pub in Rådhusgata, 5 minutes walk from the feis venue. Dinner will be 150 nkr/person and children are also welcome, as we are in a private area of the pub. A great opportunity to socialize and get together!

Hi,
here is the schedule for the feis competitions and workshops and also age groups.
Because we had to start organizing very late, we did not get the feis venue on Friday evening due to other bookings. All team competitions are therefor set on Sunday for our feis SHOW. We will of course carefully put the program together so that dancers entering several team competitions (ie ceili, dance drama, show choreography) will have time to change costumes. We are of course fully aware that it is not optimal to put all team competitions on the same day when it comes to logistics, but it is the best after all due to the circumstances. So please bear over with us for this solution. We hope that giving you long notice of this will help things go smooth.

Grade exams
Grade Exams will be held Friday 23. of October at Senteret for internasjonal dans, Kongensgate 16 (5 minutes walk from feis venue) from apx 10am-6pm. Grades will be organized by taking in groups of 5-6 dancers who each take turns to perform their first dance and then the second dance. This means that each dancer will have a short break to change shoes and catch their breath.

9-11: Opening ceremony and beginners level
11-12.30: Primary level
12.30-13.00: Awards beginners and primary
13.00-14.00: LUNCH
14.00-15.00: Intermediate level
15.00-16.00: Advanced level
16.00-17.00: Championchip
17.00-17.30: Awards intermediate and advanced level
1. and 2. place from intermediate and advanced level qualify for championchip.
19.00: Dinnerparty at Dubliner Pub (in chambre separe, so kids are also welcome) with irish stew or vegetarian curry dish, price 160 nkr.
Sunday
14.00-16.00: Team competitions - the SHOW
Ceili, mini team, figuredance, dance drama, show choreography.
It is possible to enter the show with choreographies that are not part of the competition.
Tickets for show: 100 nkr booked on NSID shop, 150 nkr at the door.
Age groups for competitions:
Beginners: 6-8, 9-12,13-18, 19+
Primary-advanced and team: under 12, 12-18, over 18.
